Is there an available online reference to pricing for old half's(pre seated) that takes variety into account. I'm looking at several but it's nearly impossible for me determine what a fair price is. Yes, I know the price is what someone is willing to pay for it.

Most references I see only break down by date/grade but not much in the way of variety and rarity. Any help appreciated.

Use the Heritage archives. They make note of the varieties in many if not most cases.

There is little, if any, premium unless it's at least an R5 or a recognizable and cool die marriage (1817/3, for instance).

R4's carry a pretty nice premium! (Always depending on what it looks like!) Coinfacts has all overton's listed with pop reports and previous pcgs/ngc sales. If I'm not mistaken, all of the auction prices are from major auction(heritage, as said above) I usually go straight to coinfacts with my pricing questions!

Thanks to you and the others. I checked coinfacts and did indeed find them listed. Sadly there are so many overton's with so many different grades that most only have 1 or 2 per grade with no history. But it does provide a decent baseline as long at the rarity is similar I would suppose. I will just make sure I really like one before pulling the trigger in the event I way over pay I will just chalk it up to tuition expense.
