I took a walk through Chinatown on a recent visit to San Francisco, and there were shops with boxes full of fake trade dollars, morgans, you name it. They were going for four bucks apiece. I could spot them as being counterfeit from 50 feet away, but I'll bet there were plenty of people thinking they got a bargain from an unsuspecting Chinaman. They looked exactly like the one listed. With the right amount of lack of character or ethics, a guy could make a fortune with those on ebay.
The 1872cc "trade dollar" eBay auction was ended early because of an "error" in the listing. Good job guys!
The seller ended this listing early because of an "error" in the listing. Glad to see that both of these were killed...
I was looking for an 1872 cc seated liberty dollar on google and found these old post.I was looking because of auction number 27040740,on ebid.It has trade dollar on the reverse, and it's not titled trade dollar.First bid is set at 21 dollars and buy it now price,$420.So the front is seated liberty dollar and the reverse is a trade dollar.Counterfeit(?) but he does not state that.
The number I listed, but ebid can't find it.And I search the users auctions,it's not there. At first I thought it said it had 1 hour and a few minutes to go before ending.Second time I looked,I thought it said 1 day and some hours.Unless he saw my post here and deleted it,there are a couple of reasons why it could not be listed. They can automatically relist at the end of auctions. So I will check again later.
