I was going to say MD but then look at the S in Trust and the D mint mark...they both display nice separation and appear to be raised...maybe the real deal...

Actually, even the areas that don't have the best separation and look to be MD seem to be raised and not shelf-like...

well that is my thinking, they had some 2004-P DDO but did not look anything close to these. I think the S was is the best, then the R and then Mint, but I am new. These are raised features no flats. ty, for reply :)

I searched four Mint bags of the 2004 Westward Journey nickels and didn't find a single DDO.

    Make mine Bacardi!

It doesn't look like it to me, but the condition is not that good so I don't think it would make any difference.

hmm what about the S, G and mint? I was also thinking I saw stuff (serif) on Liberty and that it started out weak that side and worked it's way around. Could it be both? Oh, and thank you that is was cool.

the outside S, R and G have a whole raised thick edge that looked so much like DDO, maybe if I wish hard enough......LOL

Looks like md from a worn die.

die deterioration doubling can show a number of different forms, all depends on how the flow of metal wears the die...

Yes it can. such as i once found a dime with a normal obverse, but flip it over to the reverse, and BAM every letter was magnified to about three times it's normal size!
(that dime is what got me on here folks. :D)
