hello, new here, I collect error coins, a friend of mines found this quarter and Im not sure what to think of it, can some body please gimme info and what this quarter has been threw?
to CoinTalk Jim. In a word - H*LL! Looks like to much damage to just come from overuse in vending machines/slot machines, but I'm 250% sure that it is post-mint damage.
maybe it was thrown off the john handcok building! seriously, i found a few cents looking like that after their quarter mile fall. think, 200 miles per hour hitting brick?
At one time there was some discussion that some coinage was on the Space Shuttle as a heat shield ??? Sorta looks that way huh?? RickieB

Coins don't fall that fast, they tested it on MythBusters (Discovery Channel). It would hurt to get hit by one, but it shouldn't be fatal. yea, i saw that mythbusters! that show is awsome! i still would'nt want to get hit by a coin going that fast! unless its a 1933 saint- gaudens or a 1909S vdb!
