Everytime I get change back....I look at the dates and then scan the coin for anything unusual....When I get state quarters....I don't know what to look for. What does a state quarter have to look like to be worth something? Are there any famous errors? Are certain states rare? Thanks

None that I know of have errors... todays mint is so good at what they do its hard to find some... but you never know keep looking one might exist...

as for rarity... hardly any state quarters could be defined as rare... but the 1999 state quarters are going up in value.... mostly for the proofs and MS65
reason being there becoming more and more scarce to get ahold of because so many people are hording them... of course as soon as the coin is worth its peek amount millions of people will be selling them for a premium and the coins value will drop down to nothing more then face value again... then maybe if your lucky it will start to climb back up... all this in about... 50 years maybe.... of course I could be completely wrong and one of the more wiser people on this forum could help....
