Working around cash I always keep an eye out for keepers whether they be paper or coins. Found my first star note. 1963 with minor bends no folds or tears, fantastic shape. also a 1977 $1 in great IMG_2030.jpg shape.

    Nice find!!!

Your 1963 is also a Joseph Barr Note. . . He was Treasury Secretary for only 3 months or so. Although some think his short tenure in office means these Notes are rare, that isn't the case. But the star definitely is collectible.

Nice finds. I like that the star serial is all odd digits. It's the little things :)

    That's a great find!

Much like the 1950-D nickel, everyone knew his tenure would be short so they assumed it would be rare. So, they were saved in mass quantity and today they are quite common. But, they are still popular and a great circulation find.

I'm happy finding one. First one I've seen in circulation in any shape much less crisp. Might have to get an album just so I have a safer place for my bills. I have found $5's & $10's from the 60's & 70's in great shape too. I don't look for a turnaround. Maybe something for the grandkids down the road.
