I'll try to be more helpful.... With a quick look at your coin pics I would estimate the grade to be about a XF or so. Grading from pics is a iffy proposition due to the many differences in cameras, lighting, computer monitor sharpness and color rendition. The dark spots on the obverse concern me but I'd still go with the XF range. As far as value I think something in the $40-$50 range would be a reasonable retail value.
Even though you are probably closer to the true selling value, he probably will sell it at the highest price someone gives him.
Okay, but the "highest price" and what a coin is actually worth are not necessarily the same; the above opinions were in response to the question as it was asked.
yes, but if i say it is worth 100 dollars, and someone else say its worth 20 (and he is correct) who would he listen to? who would he WANT to listen to? its all about that, not: "the highest price is the right price."
Good points, all. The confusion can be FIXED by changing one word: Original: "he probably will sell it at the highest price someone gives him..." Revised: "he probably will OFFER it at the highest price someone gives him..." I think "What's It Worth?" is a very valuable feature here, and it ties directly to "What Should I Pay?"
If you told him it was worth $100, I can tell you who he shouldn't listen to. Beyond this, and in the context of your previous post, I am not sure what your point is here since no one even came close to saying that "the highest price is the right price".
If the OP had received two dozen estimates instead of just two, he'd have a better shot at pricing fairly, especially because the two estimates reflected widely-differing grades, F-VF versus XF. "What's It Worth" (aside from the possibility of counterfeits for some series) is more a question of grading than of pricing. A Seller who needs new shoes for the baby might offer BIN for half as much as a Fat Cat would.
probably worth less than f-vf with the problems. however, the details are about xf. the WE does not show very clearly on f-vf coins for this series.
well, i have never even been on a date in my life, so i would never need shoes for any offspring, because i never had any offspring. and i am not a fat cat seller, i only weigh about 120 pounds.
I would guess mid 40's. I just bought one in a little worse shape for 30 Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
I can't tell if the odd pinkish color comes from stains/cleaning, or from some kind of weird lighting. The background around the coin is also pinkish, so if the true color of the background was white, then the coin is not stained as badly as it looks. But it's not the usual rich bronze color of most 2c pieces. I'm sticking with my estimate of $30 tops.
