I recently discovered the 1967 Commemorative Set: But when I buy mint/proof sets, I usually prefer cameo. So, a few questions: 1) Most of the sets I see on eBay are in cellophane (as pictured above) and don't look like cameo, or even proofs for that matter. US coins that come in cellophane are "just uncirculated"; I suppose that the Canadian mint operates the same way? 2) Does a cameo proof set of these coins even exist? Was it ever made? 3) Where else can I look other than eBay? Thanks. Edit: I see them in these containers occasionally, but the pictures never really look like they are cameo... are they?
While I cannot give you a definite answer I do believe 1967 Cameo does exist and that the cellophane sets are 'just uncirculated'. I would try looking at Canadian dealers they might have a better idea where to track one down. Also those containers are just run of the mill plastic coin holders. The owner adds the coin themselves I don't believe they were ever sold from the mint that way.

Colonial Acres seems to buy-up all of the Canadian Mint old stock ... => here is a link that'll lead you to a couple of 1967 Specimen Sets (good enough?) http://colonialacres.com/category/78/1965-1969-rcm-items ... if not, you'll probably be able to find cameo coins if you search their stock by denomination? (anyway ... good luck hunting)
Ooops => apparently those items are currently "out of stock" Ummm, but here is a silver dollar heavy cameo http://colonialacres.com/product/18784/1967-iccs-certified-pl-66-heavy-cameo?ref=985 ... and a 50 cent piece ... http://colonialacres.com/product/33474/1968-iccs-certified-pl-65-heavy-cameo?ref=976 ... and a quarter (no photo though) http://colonialacres.com/product/58291/1967-25-cents-iccs-certified-pl-65-cameo?ref=958 ... ummm, and a dime (proof-like) http://colonialacres.com/product/16741/1967-proof-like?ref=942 ... etc, etc ... if you look in the denomination column on the LHS you should be able to build a set => hope this helped Cheers
Holy cow. $140 in Canadian dollars for a deep cameo? Maybe I'd better rethink my priorities! Thanks for the links, though.
I Googled "1967 canadian commemorative set" and yours was in like the 3rd row. Nicest picture I saw to show people what I was talking about.
Well I am glad I had the nicest set to illustrate. Freaked me out!. Guess you can't hide from google.
I believe cameos exist in all denominations, in mint sets and even from uncirculated rolls. You may want to look for 1967 Specimen sets as well. There aren't any "proofs". They can be "proof-like" though. Here is an example of one right from a roll. Here is an example of a regular mint set, although not 1967, the point is the same.
Here is my 1967 Specimen Set (sorry, the photo is pretty poor) ... it's hard to tell whether they're "cameo" ... but they're super cool => click on the photo and it becomes "Super-sized"
