I'll have to take a picture of my 63-S that I got at the last Baltimore show. It's a nice original VF-30. Stay tuned.

Still one of my favorite coins, even with the hole. Through die research done by Randall Wiley, I was able to identify it as from the last batch of halves struck in New Orleans by the confederates, before the mint was shut down in 1861, due to a lack of silver and the war. I'd like to think it was worn around the neck of a confederate soldier or southern sympathizer.

While 1869 was well after the war had ended, it was in the middle of the so-called "reconstruction period", so close enough and still an era of great historical significance, albeit an unfortunate one. ;)

Looking forward to photos of the new 2C when she arrives, and welcome to the forum.\

That I do, sir, and very much so. Nice!
