How can you send to CAC if they are not accepting memberships?

CAC hasn't been taking in new memberships for a while now. I would like to send some coins to CAC, but how do I do so if they are not taking any more memberships?

I would like to do the same but i dont know how either..! My guess would be to find a trustworthy dealer that has a CAC membership and have them submit your coins for you and just pay them back.

 

Thru a CAC member or dealer.

 

Through a CAC submitter. Some collectors have memberships and they may be willing to help. Likewise, CAC lists dealers who are generally willing to help, too, and they break it down by state so you can target your search. I am one of those CAC dealers who helps folks.

Im supposed to have an application out to me sometime this week. What a pleasant surprise to have been able to break through that little membership block going on. I wasnt even necessarily intending to be a CAC submitter, but the privilege sort of is falling into my lap and I dont believe in second guessing good fortune such as this.

Actually I just happened to be in the right place at the right time and read the right line of text I guess. I hate to be vague but I dont want to let it out and then the privilege gets shut down for the folks that are after joining CAC for the right reasons and for who this privilege was designed for. Im sure John has his reasons on why he has a closed membership for now.

At any rate, if you are truly interested in submitting to CAC, just give them a call. The worse they can say is no to you, and you might be surprised at the outcome. The message on the web site may be to deter too many folks from submitting for membership and a simple call might break that barrier.

I know from my limited dealings with CAC that this is a company with above excellent customer service and very friendly and willing to help folks out. I have been blown away at how they have treated me and will do a thread on them once ive had my coins evaluated and sent back. All I can say right now is I am extremely honored for what John Albanese has done for me and I will remember it ALWAYS, and you can best believe they have a loyal client in me from now until I leave this earth or they cease to exist.

 

Membership in CAC has requirements that not everyone can meet - which is fine I suppose. I'm not a member and I don't meet their qualifications for a collector member, but they have always answered my questions on the phone or through email - and through their website I found very a friendly, helpful member dealer who has been easy to work with submitting coins - and it's fast - a lot faster than TPG submission.

 

What were the requirements for a collector membership?

 

When I was in grade school, a few of us formed an elite club that did nothing. Other kids wanted to join, but we steadfastly refused them. Sometimes we made them do a bunch of push-ups, letting them believe we would let them join, but then we refused them again, lol.

I sent an email and they responded that i needed to have a US mailbox..a friend in the states who could receive the verified coins..they will not ship to Canada. I plan to travel to the States upon retirement and will submit if necessary.. I have a good perspective on my coins as to their grade. When I look at ebay for MS65 Morgan dollars I am plesantly suprised by my coins condition as compared to some MS65 and as a member stated...if I need a sticker to tell if my coins are pretty...maybe coins are not the best idea (paraphase)

 

Darn, I wish they shipped to Canada. I don't think I could trust anyone with my coins, so I guess I won't be able to send to CAC. Thanks for your help

 

Hi Savy...are you in Ontario and if so are you going to attend the Toronto coin show at the end of the month.

 

If you can't trust anyone with your coin, how can you send it to someone you don't know to put a sticker on it?

CAC is a well known company, and I doubt they would steal my coins lol Sadly, I have been scammed before, so I am now reluctant to trust just anyone.

 

I'm really interested in the auction aspect.Really hoping to obain MS65 Morgan cc coins. I also have intrest in pricing at a Canadian show with US coins & listed prices (US) ie PCGS. Will dealers be reasonable??

 

I've never been to the auction. Do you know if they are selling any graded US coins? If so, I will probably be bidding
I have only been to the Toronto Coin Expo once, and they mainly sold Canadian coins. Most of the US coins I saw were somewhat overpriced, but I'm sure you could find some fair prices.
