It's so hard...

    ...to clean a coin without leaving any traces that it was cleaned. The color, surface texture, hairlines under microscopic view, etc. Besides, it's much easier to just get the coin and put it away. And it costs money to go buy the chemicals and stuff you are going to clean with. Not to mention the odds that you do it right are small. Going through all the trouble of trying to make it look better is not worth it, IMO.

    Nice joke... I agree cleaning coins is pointless. if you don't like a coin. Sell it and buy a new one. if you can't find another one keep that one. Don't clean a rare coin.

    you can always unclean a coin if you mess up. nobody would ever know it was cleaned.
