Hi All, I may have this all wrong so I hope you guys school me! This was in a roll of dimes I got from the bank. I first noticed the damage then the Misalignment (if I have the proper term). I then looked more closely at the date; I think it is a dbld die, but I am new. I'm not sure, but is "In God We Trust" also something?
Wow darn it! I see two ends to the six which does not look like PDM and I was sure that this was a misalignment, dashed hopes again :_(
Oh and I thought the G was interesting with the tops of the T and the face of the R. Thank you for replying!
heres a 74-D I just posted, take a look http://www.cointalk.com/threads/1974-d-roosevelt-dime-is-it-worth-sending-to-a-error-expert.246582/
The 74-D coin you posted does look like triple layering to me! Hey when you say worn die is that also implying that this was or is an MD (machine). If so, I believe those are supposed to flat, the second end on the six is not flat. Hope you got some time to explain it to me. Hope that coin of yours turns out to be a good one.
The design rim shows finning on the left. As far as doubling goes, all I see is die deterioration doubling.
when your looking for double dies, there's also split serif, heres a couple with arrows pointing to the split
ok i did the likes I didn't know about those; I did it for you as well, hey I found a 74 dime like the date you posted, please look at that one you have the time and thank you for the additional HELP!!!!
