I am super pumped to get this coin. I was only 1 of 2 bidders, and amazingly, I snagged this coin for $150! (For reference, an NGC graded VF-details just sold for $230.) The coin also has what I presume is a planchet clip. I don't believe it is PMD because I don't see any other marks where the coin could have been secured when cut/clipped, plus it looks pretty natural and matches the general surfaces of the rest of the edge of the coin. I would guess a strong VF, and it looks even better in-hand than it does in the photos. A very neat piece...I am so happy to own it! Maybe I'll send it in for grading.
Don't look for other marks. If it is the planchet, the coin will taper to the clip. This would be most noticeable on the letters. If you look at your coin, you can see the tapering.
