Everyone keeps talking about a QDO for the 64D Kennedy Half Dollar. Actually the CONECA listed 64D DDO-005 is not a QDO, there is no quadruple spread on it anywhere...it is a triple spread (see attached photo). I am not sure why or how NGC, PCGS and others call it a QDO. If you look at the CONECA Master Listings it is referred to as a triple spread. It was referred to as a triple spread in the 1994 CONECA U.S Doubled Die Master Listing. It was also referred to as triple spread in John Wexler’s The Encyclopedia of Doubled Dies Volume I 1978.
So the way I see it there is no QDO for the 64 BS or the 64D.

While ALL of what you have stated is true, it's simply not the point Larry.

The "POINT", is that if the CPG says its a QDO then by golly the TPG's are gonna say that as well! Whether it is true or not!

You can talk or type until you are blue in the face but if the CPG says its so, then it must be so.

I know mine has (4) Quad....but that makes sense the 64D does not. I will have to look into this more as I too assumed it was correct.

That makes the QDO proof more rare indeed

Interesting that the seller has 2 more of these.

    2602823-001 (The listing coin)
    2602823-002
    2602823-003

Must have gotten lucky with some proof set purchases.

As for the ridiculous asking price? The PCGS Price guide lists it at $400.
I seriously doubt that this coin will sell regardless of the "Extremely Rare" phrase in the title.

I know mine is not a 'Star' but still, I will keep an eye out for these in my raw purchases.

Well maybe the $400 is not so far out registry or not?

Wow $400 is not so hard to grasp now..

    Huh?

The Chinese are fre to buy any coin they want for potential counterfeiting. They don't really need to logon to Coin Talk to steal them from photographs.

Or, they could just go to the NGC web site and start keying in numbers on the cert verification page. Voila! Number, slab, coin. All in one tidy image.

Then there's PCGS which has a "Shared Orders" page were all the cert numbers you could ever want along with the coins that go with them, right there in front of the viewers face.

I just read it, no reason to get uptight about it.

Nice little set and it is nice to win one as I paid $100 for the PR67.

Seems these are still rare, I am glad I have mine, maybe it will hold value over the years...still NGC = 10, and PCGS = 16. That's only 26 of them. Last one was $1200+.

So glad I took a chance on this.
