    $10 Star Note

    Print run of 1,920,000.

Has obvious signs of circulation and wear, but no tears or pinholes.

Should I keep it or spend it?

I agree with Mat, it's a spender in that condition.

Keep these if you can find 'em.

I have a dumb question. How do I know what bank it was printed at? There isn't a letter inside the seal.

Yea, the condition is lower than I would have liked and I know it's probably going to be worthless for a long time (if ever), but I'm going to hold on to it for now. If it was a $100 note then I couldn't really afford to sit on it, but being 10 bucks I will take my chances. Besides I don't see them often so I do get some joy from looking at it, lol.

I'm sure you'll see others. Stars are not that uncommon, especially from larger print runs.

These notes were printed at either Fort Worth or DC, the particular federal reserve bank that issued them can be found in the ulh corner, yours is d4, which I believe signifies the Cleveland FRB, I think I see the FW letters also which means the note was printed at Fort Worth Texas.

I gotta agree. Most collectors on feebay want brand new crisp star notes. It'll sell on the bay but it would be a waste of time. You may only get $11 for it and $1 profit on Ebay isn't worth the time you will spend listing.

The F6 at the upper left signifies which Federal Reserve District it was printed for. Each Federal Reserve District orders their currency from the BEP, they do not print their own bills.

I don't see them too often, but I have gotten a few since I started looking a few months back so I'm getting the sense that they are not too uncommon. Knowing this I will still hold on to this one until I get my next $10 star note, and if in better condition I will let the worst conditioned one go.
