me thinks, the seller is having a bit of fun with Ebay buyers. just trying to see if anyone is actually foolish enough to bite for this. IMHO.
The vendor must be a wanker. Silver Striker, that vendor on eBay is obviously a real wanker (pretentious person), as he is also a real idiot for having a starting price of US$10 & a 'Buy It Now' of US$1 Million.Let's hope that someone reports this nutcase,& gets this auction pulled. Aidan.
I don't see where he is in the wrong. It shows he has a great imagination, and if someone is stupid enough to bid, then it is there problem. I don't see why they should pull the auction. Maybe I'm missing something. I think it's funny. I wonder if anyone is stupid enough to bid. By the looks of it, this guy could sell ice to an eskimo. lol. Phoenix
Thats hilarious. "At some point in his 38 years, the unfortunate shiny penny had his shiny burnt off, turning him partially black. And once a penny goes black, it never goes back."
Phoenix, that idiot is misrepresenting something that isn't.Depending on where the vendor is,he could face either a fine or time in the slammer,as a penalty under state consumer law,or federal consumer law,or both. I can guess that Roy could shed a bit of light on this,as he is an ex-lawyer who is now serving as a judge in California. He knows more about U.S. law than I do.I know more about British Commonwealth law to a certain degree. Aidan.
I haven't practiced criminal law in almost 40 years my friend, so I don't generally opine on matters of that nature. BTW, just to correct the record, although I am basically retired, I do maintain my license in active status so I am most assuredly not an "ex" lawyer. "Serving as a judge" considerably exaggerates my status as a temporary judge in small claims court once a month or so.
Roy,I was unaware of this,as the way that judges are put into office over here is by appointment.I didn't know that judges are elected in America.I know that Sheriffs are elected. Thanks for clarifying this. Aidan.
Aidan, it all depends on what state in the US we are talking about. Some states elect their judges, others appoint them. All the federal judges are appointed with approval by the US Senate (lol, and _that's_ a whole different ball game ).
Can someone shed some light on this? I'm not a lawyer, but I don't see what this guy is doing thats illegal.
travels And technicaly he is correct in saying that no other cent has travelled the exact same path of users as that particular cent, I think it's humorous.:smile
