    Well if that's strike weakness not a touch of wear (hard to tell from pics especially on the early stuff which I love) then I'm going ms -64

    That's a tough coin to find in that condition. Maybe even more correct to say near impossible. Did you ask for an armed escort to your car after the purchase? Kidding, of course. Congratulations on being the owner. There can't be many more that are finer.

    12 higher believe it or not. 8 in 66, 1 in 66+ and three in 67. Including resubmissions I'd day there are probably not many. Coinfacts shows PCGS 65's selling in 07, 06, 06 again, 03 and 02....

    This coin is EX: Benson. Here's the Heritage description:

    Ex: Benson. This coin was Dr. Benson's primary representative of the 1795 half dime, out of one of the finest half dime collections ever assembled. Prior to the Goldberg sale in 2002, the Benson coins were stored in original Wayte Raymond coin boards for 50-plus years, where they acquired spectacular original toning. This amazingly beautiful, unabraded half dime is an example of the LM-8 variety, characterized by several positional diagnostics including the position of star 1 between curls 2 and 3, the spacing of LIB in LIBERTY, and the branch showing no berries under the left (facing) wing.

    A number of spectacular die cracks represent the LM-8 die pair, with the most noticeable one meandering from the rim above LIBERTY through the Y, into Liberty's nose, then across the face and neck all the way to the portrait truncation. Oddly, neither Logan-McCloskey nor Valentine mention broad recutting of the 79 in the date that is also diagnostic of this variety.

    Virtually no marks are seen on this Gem half dime, with the surfaces covered with iridescent originality. Blue, gold, green, and rose-yellow accents combine with lustrous, silver-gray toning for excellent eye appeal. The portrait and eagle are a bit soft at the center, but all other details are boldly rendered. This once-in-a-lifetime half dime is destined for the most advanced type or half dime collection. Population: 8 in 65, 11 finer (3/14).

    Just some cheap flea market finds. My wife wanted to go with her parents so I tagged along looking for some cheap coins and toys for my daughter.

    Well, my CAC Type set outgrew my previous Slab Storage Case that held 25 coins. I'm up to 27 CAC Type coins and so I bought this: (stores 50 coins)

    I received my IHC a few days ago - just got around to cracking it out and imaging it today. It's the nicest IHC I've ever owned, but that's not saying much - the only others have been a few very worn pieces I found in change as a kid. I'm really appreciating the subtle beauty of this little bronze.

    I think the quality of the coin is comparable to my 1909 VDB, so now, on to hunting down an 09 no-VDB.

    Mainebill;
    Excellent coin! I like the seated liberty proofs in any denomination. The halves and the dollars look the nicest.

    There's a couple marks is likely a pf 62 -63 at best but with a mintage of 1355 in proof and 8400 business is a very cool thing to find raw and local I prefer my proofs toned but I had to buy this one
