I really don't know. I don't collect coins of Great Britain, so I couldn't tell you anything about its value, cleaned or uncleaned. Your best bet is to post it in the Foreign/Ancient section - there are plenty of guys there that do collect British and would be able to give you an idea of what it's worth. All I can say is that it's worth at least its melt value in silver.

You probably didn't do it any favors. Coca-Cola is acid which can damage a coin.
Fortunately, your coin is very common so you're not going to lose a bundle of money by soaking it like that.

There are better ways to clean silver, special products made just for coins, like MS70. I've never used them, so I'll let others give you advice on that.

If you do try your hand at cleaning coins, experiment with something inexpensive and common.

It's a very nice shilling and quite undervalued in XF ($15.).

Cleaning isn't very difficult but it requires quite a bit of experience to do it right and doing it wrong can be a disaster. The cleaningmethod depends on the coinage metal and what's on it. Fizzy soda pop would ruin a copper coin for instance.

I refuse to answer or assist you until you explain your 4 photo avatar.

I clean copper coins with Brasso. They come up marvelously and seem to sell better than coins I do not sell?
I tried advertising 'coin in original condition', but the cleaned coins sold and the untampered coins stuck. The amateur coin collector seems to want shiny 'my precious'!

Yes, good advice, I did thie with some farthings and they clean very well indeed, with Brasso, or with Brown Sauce.

Everyone, do you think I am ruining the coins, or being lucky tat I find customer's who like them shiny?

Brasso is an abrasive that can harm a coin. Coins cleaned with Brasso might look shiny for a while, but they will discolor later. And an expert or experienced collector will probably be able to tell that a coin has been "brassoed".

That's true enough. Many coins get cleaned, and I'm not a purist about it, being a collector of ancients. All of the coins in my gallery have been cleaned. I think the suggestion that others are making is simply to go about it the right way. There are professional products and techniques that minimize the risk of irrevocable damage.

One of the more popular products is E-Z-Est Coin Cleaner (formerly Jeweluster).

Thank you very much I will have a look for it on the internet.
    Happy Eostre by the way.
Today is the major seasonal day of religious celebration at or following the Spring Equinox. Cybele, the Phrygian fertility goddess, had a consort, Attis, who was believed to have been born via a virgin birth.
    Sound Familiar?
