I live on the west side of Fort Worth. the ones closest to me is two different credit Unions. Chase,Wells Fargo and the one thats in walmart. All these are with in 2-5 mins away from my home.
credit unions give you a higher interest rate on your money. Chase and wells fargo might be more convenient but offer a lower interest rate.
Lol, I doubt anyone cares about rates very much given they are ALL so low... would you like 0.00024% or 0.00029%? Every year I get my annual statement on my checking account and I laugh at the YTD interest earned. Not even worth it. If you like online banking and mobile apps for your phone/ipad, you should look into the larger banks like Chase or Wells. Their technology is probably far superior to credit unions. Otherwise, go to each website and look for their Branch Locator, type in your address/zip. See how many branches are near where you work and/or live. Convenience is probably the #1 reason people choose a bank. If the credit union provides higher rates, but you have to drive an extra 5 miles to get there and back, might not be worth the effort. Just my 2 cents. I love banks.
Banks are a bit chintzier about selling boxes and rolls of coins - to the extent that even if they will sell to you they will charge you 5% of the amount you are buying to recoup their cost from Brinks, Garda etc. That all started happening a couple of years ago, and unless I have "ins" in the bank that order at no charge because they like me, I avoid banks and find other more customer/collector friendly institutions.
wells fargo is where I go...some are great about giving you boxes for free others are so damn mean saying you have to be a merchant to get any boxes. not sure about Chase. ?
Banks make a ton in overdraft fees (like 32 billion dollars a year)... you would think they could budge a little on not charging a fee for buying a box of coin.
Some Chase banks don't like you getting boxes without a business account, but i have found the majority I go to offer boxes without any additional charges
I go to any bank That I do business with and ask for say $5.00 worth of 1 cent coins. I ask off handed if they have any silver to sell to me. That at least sometimes gets a conversation going then I leave my card. Nothing ever come of it.
