As promised earlier in another thread, here's my GTG for an amazing 1861 3ct silver coin I'll wait for 3 days (when the poll closes) and post the results then. It has been recently graded by NGC, that's all I am telling you right now ;-) -Mike PS: thanks to ocnumis for allowing me to post his pics
This series always seems like a tough one to grade, since there's no bust, eagle, or traditional devices that are key areas showing wear. No doubt the coin has been cleaned/whizzed in the past, but I'm thinking that (for NGC, at least) there's enough crust/retoning to allow the coin to grade...AU58 is my guess.
Au details improperly cleaned I see hairlining on both sides and a touch of wear I'd say au-58 details
I don't know enough to make a guess but I will just say that ebay seller is great to deal with. I've had multiple good dealings with him.
I can second that, very professional seller with great coins! Give it a try, so many people got it 'wrong' already - if we agree that NGC got it 'right' ;-)
