as the title states, are there those things? i now i have heard of ones in banks, you enter you dollar amount,l you click the type of coin you want and how much, then you get em' in a bag. you can also insert spare change for cash. if they have those, were are they at? if only at banks, which ones?

    thanks!

I haven't heard of the kind of change machines you describe before but a way to go through small amounts of "spare change" is to put in nickels, dimes or quarters in vending machines and then hitting the return button to cycle through different coins.

You can usually put in up to 95 cents without requiring a purchase but some machines (often water machines) may allow you to put in higher amounts and still refund the amount you've put in. Eventually, you'll start getting all of the same coins back but this often takes a while. I haven't done this in nearly ten years but when I did I would periodically find War nickels and silver dimes by going through relatively small amounts of coins from vending machines.

I used to get dollar coins at the post office. I would buy one stamp and put in a $20 bill.
