picked up a new alexandrian potin tetradrachm, i think this is maximian...but considering my track record reading these legend, i could be wrong. but i really think i've got it this time.

    so the obverse legend is...

    Α Κ Μ ΟΥΑ ΜΑΞΙΜΙΑΝΟC CΕΒ

the reverse is L, delta across fields of alexndria holding the bust of serapsis. (could be L, A...hard to tell sometimes..anyone know for sure?).....so year 288-289.

    19 mm
    6.3g

i'm not certain about the exact attribution...(milne, curtis..whoever), if anyone happens to know that would be appreciated.

thanks bing, i looked at that and couldn't decide for sure...i think you're right (supposed to have one wreath tie vertical, and one folded back..which mine has as you point out), so i'll go with it.

Sweet lookin' potin TET, my coin-friend ... very cool addition (congrats)

=> it has some interesting and very eye-appealing blue & green crusties (a yummy lil' coin)

    Bing nailed it.

You're encroaching on territory staked out by me & vlaha though. Might be careful, vlaha appears to be armed. :D

=> hmmm, I wonder how vlaha is doing lately? (I know that he took-off over a week ago for his school project, but I'm surprised that he hasn't taken a single break and checked-out his ol' coin digs?) ...... oh well, good for him (you rock, lil' dude)
