I think you got a pretty good price...I have seen them selling for a bit more than that. Long term, it's hard to say if these will continue to hold that value or not. But either way, it's a very nice piece.

I honestly don't believe they will go down in value .. its more of a time growth mechanism then a devaluation

Take a look at the 20th Anniversary Set, then and now, or the 1995-W Proof, then and now.

That's why I'm holding bags of circulated State Quarters. They aren't minting any more! They're bound to go up in value!

On a related note, I need to buy some more 1970 proof sets at $10 each, so that when I finish my time machine I can go back to 1971 and sell them for $25 each.

take example the rare 2006-2007 reverse ase or what ever year it is the one the mint put out a letter for .. that's worth 1000 dollars now

I agree there are some special examples that see positive growth. The 1995-W, both anniversary sets are prime examples of that. I just feel like the reverse proofs since are the mint trying to ride that success as long as possible. I don't see these coins holding the value that those others do. It is far more common for coins like this to have a short term price spike and then drop.

    I could be wrong though.
