The coin's year is 1964 and I see distinctive lines on the steps of the Monticello.

Can someone please verify this? Thanks in advance.

    Pictures are not close enough.
Edit: I see some dings on the first picture that make it to not be full steps IMO. Closer pics would help but I'm 99% sure it is not full steps.

Ok, my bad with the photos - I added a closer image here and the first post. I see steps with a magnifying glass in person. Hard to take close ups as my camera automatically blurs when focusing for some reason.

I see at least two distinct steps - and not the full 5-6. Are those rare at all?

Maybe the bottom steps are flattened and worn out?

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

It may have once been full steps, but if flattened, it can't be FS any more.

    That's a bummer. I hope it's still valuable as a collectible.

I actually see two full steps and two partials on the third and fourth steps, so hope that makes it at least a little valuable.

Over 1 BILLION 1964-P nickels minted.
Also closer to 2 BILLION 1964-D nickels minted.

iPen, I took the liberty of enlarging two of your photos. When you ask a question such as yours it's always good to provide large pics. Your thumbnails had the mb's so I had no problem making them bigger. Next time you upload something hit the 'full image button'.........:)

Your nickel is a LDS...you can see quite a bit of die wear. You are going to have to have an EDS to get a possible full step nickel.

That coin is closer to no steps than full steps. Feel like someone is jerking my chain, ya know what I mean?
