Got this at a living estate auction the other day. Call me blind or blame the lights, but I didnt notice the "mark" on the obverse till after I bought it, just looked like a nice BU Buff to me. So after I bought it I saw the mark, which I thought was a mark until I looked closer. Looks raised and part of the detail seems to be missing on the obverse.

Tried to look to see if there is a die variety for this series, but could find anything.

Just want opinions on what everyone thinks it is.

    Thanks in advance

I'd grade it at MS 62-ish with a die gouge on the obverse.
P.S. I'm not good at grading buffalo nickels =p

It could be a die gouge, but die crack would be my guess. The coin also appears to have been cleaned and re-toned.

The Buffalo is in nice condition, but...... it really tough to see the luster, I see something that is ringing a bell to me on the reverse around the rim at 7:00 or so. I agree that this coin has been cleaned at one point and retoned. The die gouge is something I can not make a definitive remark on because I cant see it well enough. There does look to be die crack on the reverse behind and below the tail

It sure looks like a die gouge tome.
    Nice strike.
    I don't see the re-toning tho.
