Will the Baseball HOF silver coins sell out by the end of April?

I bought one proof and three unc's. Two unc's will be sold........

Yeah found out they sold out between 5 and 6pm according the US mint rep. My orders was placed on a waiting list. Wonder what the chances of picking them up are.

I actually screwed up too. I wanted to order the proof and unc dollar and unc half. I for some reason didn't add the unc dollar in between completing the order. So I had to go back and order the unc dollar and thus got charged with another $4.95 shipping. I called and they weren't able to cancel and reorder because they were sold out and I would have lost my place on the waiting list.

Of course your right Many were bought by flippers but I do think there is a reasonable demand for these from the baseball fans.

Berneck1 said mint rep talked about brouchers mailed. Wonder how many coins were purchased by major league teams to resell at their stadium? How Many by the HOF itself? You would think each would have aquired a "few" to sell to their fans & visitors wouldn't you.....giving the lil guy fan a shot at a hit. Shame on the mint if the majority went to the big boys without thinking about the sport & the fans of the sport. How many collectors could this bring into the hobby...LOTS.

 

I think most went to flippers and speculators. Everybody seems to have bought many multiples of each coin.

I'm a dirty capitalist. I have several I plan on selling at some time in the future....

I plan on funding other coin purchases for my collection.

 

I have mine listed on ebay as we speak. However I do not see there being a continued demand for these coins in the near future. Those of us who purchased from the mint. Will keep 1 ourselves and/or sell them on ebay or somehwere else for profit. Then it may exchange hands once or twice until being buried somewhere in a storage unit.

If any baseball fans were looking at this coin chances are they are bidding on one on ebay right now. After that I do not see a demand for this coin.

 

Mark my words, the Silver coins will command stable values of $75-100ea going forward


Ask me about holding real physical precious metals in an IRA or HSA plan.

 

Let ye who is without sin cast the first stone. And I'd hazard a guess that given the opportunity those very prisy folks would 'bite' at the opportunity. to make a few bucks. Me? I'm just funding my collection.......

 

I was told I was put on a waiting list, but when I track the order it says the item is back ordered and expected shipment is 4/24. Why would it say that if I was on a list or am I not?

 

Sounds to me like you are locked in, not to worry! All of my orders are still saying back-ordered....even the one placed on opening day.

I don't put much stock into the shipping dates on their website. I placed 3 orders for these coins: 3/27, 4/1 and 4/6. My 1st order on the 27th has a ship date moved back from 4/16 to 6/21 now. My 2nd and 3rd orders had ship dates moved up from 6/21 and 7/7 to 4/26 now. They did ding my card for 2 charges of shipping today, they must be sending my wonderful US Mint bags.

 

If a Christian guy did that he'd be run out of town on a rail......
