Just got this one back from NGC. It did not get the grade I expected. So, now it is time for y'all to be the judge. Vote in the poll for your grade, then let me know what you think NGC gave it.

I grade it MS63, but think NGC gave it an MS64 for color.

I'm going to say 65. I think it's a beautiful coin and I think anyone would be proud to own it.

The more I look at it, the more I wonder about Unc details because of hairlines on neck and face and low obverse luster. Couldn't be though, could it? It's a beautiful coin, the toning placement is attractive.

I absolutely stink and grading George but 65
From the pictures it don't look like enough luster to grade any higher

You know, I think Washington Quarters are about the hardest coins to grade...especially in pictures. They are one of my favorites series and I have done a lot of research on them and I still struggle with them.

The surfaces look pretty clean but I don't think the luster has what it takes to reach the premium gem level. I said MS65.

    If it does grade, 64+

Hmmm, not an option in the poll. OK 64

I'd put it at a 63-64. I have a hard time, however, distinguishing between the higher grades as they rely much more on the quality of the strike than the lower mint state grades that weighed down by distractions like bag marks, etc.

I was on the fence too. I think with Washington's especially...it is really luster dependent and it's hard to really tell the luster in this photo.
