Hi all, I'm new to numismatics but I've found this lincoln memorial cent that has almost no features to it at all on either the obverse or the reverse. If anyone cares to take a look at the photos and tells me what this is called and whether it's rare at all I'd appreciate it.

    Liv,
    Welcome to CoinTalk
What it appears to be is Post Mint Damage. Someone had to much time on their hands

At first that was my impression too, but the edge is rounded like it wasn't punched all the way down in the die so I thought that it might be a mint error.

It looks like PMD to me, too! There are all sorts of ways that damage like this can be achieved. One possibility would be to use a grinding wheel on a Dremel tool.
