1914-D Barber Dime... AU or MS?

So I bought this awhile back with bad pictures, the back is beautiful, the front, not so much....

Do you think it's MS or AU? The back makes me think it's MS....

Nice die cracks too!

Anything to help the front look more like the reverse?

Yes, it's a dirty black color... reverse looks MS.

 

Maybe it's not as dark as I thought it was.

These are quick iphone pictures.

 

Kinda looks like the front was exposed (either to air or sulfur-bearing paper) and the back was protected, then someone tried to wipe the front clean.

The reverse looks unc, the obv looks wiped, or something.

 

Looks AU to me.

 

How can you tell a coin has been wiped? I can see if the back is wiped but how in the obverse?
