Hof gold mint reusable bag

I just got an email from the mint, that they are sending me a bag, no coins and they are charging me 4.95. I never wanted the bag, why the heck are they sending me the bag, and not the coins?

Someone on another message board brought up a good point about the US Mint bag. They said they wouldn't use it because they didn't want people to know they bought coins from the US Mint. Maybe a little paranoid, but the less people in the neighborhood that know you collect coins, the better.

 

If you order over $150, they'll embroider your home address right on the bag....lol.

 

Read those posts too. Are you sure the bag will say "US MINT" on it? Why couldn't it be just a generic bag with no writings on it?

 

I saw a picture on the US Mint website once. The bag was black and it said US Mint on the side. I just tried to find a picture of one on the site, but could not.

 

Because you wouldn't be a walking US Mint billboard without their logo on it.

That's just one of the many things that drives me nuts about the whole reusable bag trend. It isn't about the environment any more, because a person really only needs a few reusable bags, and the people who want to use them already have a few. So now people get stuck with more and more reusable bags, each of which is worse for the environment than a single paper bag.

So, a simple message to retailers: Don't give me a reusable bag and tell me you're doing it to save the environment, because you aren't. You're giving me a reusable bag for no other reason than marketing.

 

Yeah, I need to write to the US Mint and the Canadian Mint and ask them to stop sending their coin advertisements through the mail.

 

Oh, good, that won't draw any attention.

How does the Mint so consistently put its ead-hay up its utt-bay?

The bag is a freaking joke! I don't know anybody that wants it for a number of reasons. In my case, I will be getting the bag I don't want over 2 months before I get the coins I do want.

Has anyone actually received a separate bag, and if so, how big is it?

 

Ya know what gets me? They ship me the bag when three products that I've ordered from them show 'in stock and reserved'. Why not send everything at once? What a waste of shipping money........
