I am becoming more interested in the rainbow toned coins. Understanding that natural toning is "better" than artificial, is there a way to expedite the natural process?

I don't want to fake it, just help the natural process move a little faster. I've heard of putting the coin in a south facing window, which would be a better idea than "cooking" it in an oven, any other natural ways?

I'm not one who is into delayed gratification, I want it and I want it NOW !!

Anything you do to help it along - makes it artificial. At least in my opinion.

Natural toning happens quite by accident - not by design. If you wish to own toned coins - your best bet is to buy them that way. Of course you could buy some Dansco albums - place your coins in them - wait 5 to 20 yrs - and hope for the best ;)

And mine! But then I don't really care for tarnished metal. :p
I could be wrong, but I think some of the older Whitman folders are made of cardboard with an even higher sulpher content. :D

Yeah - but they just don't work as well

Quite honestly - I have never seen what I consider to be pretty toned coins as a result of being in a Whitman folder.

Well Doug, as you know I would phrase my own sentiment for that subject matter a little more succinctly:
    :) :p :D
