How do you report fraud on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320075058952&fromMakeTrack=true The mint does not make silver nickels, this is a flat out lie! How does one report this to ebay to have the auction pulled?
"THIS IS THE FIRST ISSUE OF COINS, EACH ROLL CONTAINS 25 UNCIRCULATED NICKELS FROM PHILADELPHIA INT. PURE SILVER" I reported it, everyone should also.
Thanks all. I reported it as well. I did notice that this seller has only one feedback. I hope he just made a honest mistake?
This is in the description "THIS IS THE FIRST ISSUE OF COINS, EACH ROLL CONTAINS 25 UNCIRCULATED NICKELS FROM PHILADELPHIA INT. PURE SILVER" I reported him as well.
eBay's reply, I love the fact that they will NOT let me know about the result, due to privacy concerns! " Thank you for writing eBay's SafeHarbor Department about a listing or seller you would like us to investigate for fraudulent activity. We are concerned about this type of activity and want to assure you that we will review your report as soon as possible, usually within 24 hours. Due to privacy concerns, we will not keep you informed about the status of our investigation. While you will only receive this acknowledgement of the receipt of your report, please be assured that we will thoroughly review the situation. "
Almost a waste of time. I've had some bad episodes with ebay sellers and basically so what. With the millions of sellers and millions and millions of items, ebay really doesn't care about one small lie or fraud. They will send you a nice, soothing reply though.
Ah...thanks for pointing that out Frank. I missed it the first time through looking at the auction. Speedy
Just had a response from him, I think he might well be genuine. got somebody else asking me the same, I will contact the reserve monetary exchange, who sold me these nickels and verify with them they told me they were silver. Thanks for the alert Never heard of the 'Reserve Monetry Exchange' have any of you guy's? De Orc :kewl:
Just did a bit of reserch and while they are not shall we say crooked they do tend to bend the story slightly LOL here is a good link http://coincollector.org/archives/003358.html De Orc :kewl: Ps have sent this link to the seller as well.
This is from the (http://www.coinvaultbox.com/jefferson06.asp) World Reserve Monetary Exchange World Reserve EXCLUSIVE just for you: You cannot find these special twenty-five coin rolls at the U.S. Mint, Federal Reserve, or any local bank ... only at the World Reserve. You're guaranteed to get two sealed vault boxes with Jeffersons from the Philadelphia Mint and Denver Mint. Each sealed vault box contains 20 rolls of the new Jeffersons in Brilliant, uncirculated condition ... 500 coins in each vault box! These 'bricks' are heavier than a solid bar of .999 pure silver. Uncirculated coins are the only ones likely to increase most in value. VERY limited quantities available of these extremely hard to find Jeffersons. Get yours today before the vaults are emptied. 1 Sealed Vault Box of 500 Jefferson Looking Forward - Denver Mint Mark 1 Sealed Vault Box of 500 Jefferson Looking Forward - Philadelphia Mint Mark 1,000 Coins As you can see the marketing tactics used to sell these is a little questionable. The guy on ebay may have misunderstood what he bought? Now there should be no misunderstanding if he really looks into it.
"These 'bricks' are heavier than a solid bar of .999 pure silver." Wow....that is deceptive advertising. The statement never says that the nickels are .999 silver, but that they weigh more than a bar of silver. I can see where people could be misled by a statement like that. Shame on the World Reseve Monetary Exchange.
how big is the bar??? I like the phrase, these bricks are heavier than a bar of .999 silver. How big is the bar, and why does it matter??!!! I noticed that the bid is up to $8.49, not bad for a short roll of nickles!! Some body is in for a rude suprise when the try and resell them. Let's see I would pay $1.25 per roll if shipping was included.
ended The auction was ended early due to an error in the listing. Well it looks like we did our good deed for the day again.:high5:
It's going to be interesting to see if this guy uses the same shady marketing technique to try to recover some of his losses on his initial investment.
