How did you find Coin Talk?

I too ran across this site by chance, having tried a Yahoo search while looking for coin forums. I kept using the ".com" suffix and struck out. Sometimes persistence and continually shooting in the dark pays off.

I ran across this site completely by chance, and am thankful for that. There are many great people on this site who are more than willing to answer questions and provide advice about all aspects of the field.

For a 23 grad student who doesn't have many friends interested in the hobby, its nice to have a group of people to talk coins with.

 

I was searching for information on a coin that I couldnt find an ID for and found this forum and coinpeople, both had threads about the coin I was looking at...I signed up on both and they have been the only general coin forums I read on a daily basis now...I do my portrait of the week (One coin and a bio of the person on the coin) at coinpeople only because it seemed to go over better there and not so much here...but I like both forums a bunch...the only other coin forum I read is Forum Ancient Coins...So I should say thanks for the community...I have learned a lot here. I dont know anyone who collects coins offline either...

 

Through Google. I had done searches for Error Coin discussions, Error Coin groups...etc. Finally after searching through 3 pages of results...I found a "home".

 

i found this site thru a yahoo search. i am a member of a couple other forum sites, bu this is my favorite. to me, its the people here that make a difference. i like the atmosphere as well as the advice and education available....steve

 

Can not exactly remember how I found cointalk? I think it was through CONECA online? Just glad I found it!

 

Sure wish you asked that question a long time ago. I'm old and can't remember even turning on this computer let alone when I found this web site. Problem with old age is the three symtoms. Forgetfullness and I can't remember the other two.

 

i was looking on the internet for prices for proof set when i came across this site.i started checking posts and realized there was a lot of information here. so i have stayed here hoping to make friends with people with the same interest . i would like to say thanks to everybody!
