For about a year and I have I have been purchasing the old Whitman bookshelf albums and moving my coins into them. I have been looking for the Half Dime album as they are pretty rare. Last week I found one on Ebay, put in a max bid of $42.50 and won it at $23.50 beating out 5 other bidders on Saturday. It arrived in the mail today. It's in pretty good shape used. I have seen used Half Dime albums go $30-$50 and news ones for $75, so I am pretty stoked. Now all I need are the Trade Dollar, Civil War token ones, Canada, and Britain albums And the icing on the cake is the seller is in Watertown SD and I live in Aberdeen about 100 miles away, so I got it pretty quick.
Pretty much uniformity. I like the look of the bookshelf albums. I do have the classic albums for the more current series like the state and national park quarters, SBA, etc. I also have most of the Dansco albums for Australia and Ireland. Still need to get the Euro ones. I got tired of my foreign coins falling out of the folders, which is why I started upgrading.
a couple weeks ago i saw one of those in the basement of a flea market for a quarter. no idea they were uncommon. i didnt buy it because atm i only own one half dime, and want to finish my peace dollar set before i start anything else.
I would like to see the inside of that album. Half dimes are so small that I am imagining twenty coins to a row, with the whole series using up no more than half a page.
That's cool Rushmore... Some of these albums and folders are hard to find. Its also cool to see someone else from Aberdeen on here.
