I found this today and was wondering what type of error is this. It looks like a break from the date to the neck and a lamination in the face. I think there is a cud between the RT of LIBERTY.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    I'm inclined to agree.

How often do you see this? I have die breaks and laminations but this is my first with both. It looks like the die break down by the date worked its way up to the face and caused the lamination.

One has nothing to do with the other. Laminations are the result of planchet flaws - a bad mix in the alloy the planchet is made from. Die breaks & die cracks are the result of the die wearing out - the metal of the die becoming fatigued and eventually failing. It is just coincidence when you see both on the same coin.
