1941 Wheat Cent DDO

    So that doubling of the 4 is PMD? and why is the 1 or anything else not smashed?
    I would think if it were a coin roller went over it the 1 would also be smashed.

    Because it probably wasn't damaged by a coin roller specifically, it was probably hit by something else that only contacted the 4 in the date.

    Thats a clean line going thru the 4 theres no way thats PMD.

    Non_cents got it right.
    It certainly is not a DDO , look at how thin the inner portion of the slanted part of the '4', only half as thick. I would say MD in that area, PMD elsewhere perhaps.
