    Hi, stanward99.
    Welcome to the forum.

No, I don't have one, but I would be interested to know where you got it.

Looks pretty beat-up around the rims.

Also, kind of an odd color for uncirculated pure copper.

If it were mine, I would definately have it authenticated, since these are often altered to simulate error coins.

The color is due to my trying to send the best picture , it is actually lighter in color than what is , shown . I found it in my pocket when visiting grandson in Macon Ga , I assume i git it in change from wal-Mart It is a little rough around the rim, But not so much with the naked eye

Very good find. The state quarters fetch a very good price if authenticated.

No, the government won't authenticate your coin.

Third party grading services, such as ANACS, NGC, and PCGS will do it for a price.

    Good luck.

    Stanward99 welcome to the forum!

I tell you, all you newbies finding missing clad layer coins :p (just joking with you).

Its a great find and can typically realize $200 - $400 on ebay. The Grading companies mentioned by Jody are the ones to go with. Given the dings and wear, ANACS will probably be the best route as the other companies may just "body bag" it and send it back to you as "damaged". www.anacs.com will get you started ;)

Congrats on a good error find. Make sure to ONLY hold it by the edges as fingerprints will lower its potential value.

Amen to that...I've been on the run all day...but that is the norm for me most of the time so it wasn't too bad but it wasn't too fun either....I'm helping a buddy of mine that is running for office and THAT is fun!!!

That uncladded coin looks better than an ordinary quarter.

The roughness around the rim on the reverse is not post-strike damage. When the clad layer lifts off, it often leaves a rough surface. Since this area is subjected to relatively low effective striking pressure, the rough appearance will be retained. The coin is in great shape and would easily bring $350 - $450. It should weigh about 4.7 grams, 1 gram less than normal.
