OK, who besides me thinks that the Wyoming quarter is one of the most boring designs yet?

It looks like the designers just took the outline of the Horse and Rider from the Wyoming license plate and put it on the State Quarter. That probably took all of 3 seconds to accomplish.

Jeez, they could have added something in the background or added the state flower (or best of all, perhaps Old Dan's picture on there waving at us).

I think Florida's and now Wyoming's designs are the worst in the series so far... But, if I really had to choose, I think Florida would slightly edge out Wyoming as the worst design...

I would have thought that they would have used Yellowstone National Park. That's the only thing I know in Wyoming. I don't like Nevada. They should have put Hoover Dam on it.

Nevada needed to put a casino or slot machine or showgirl on theirs. It would have made some people mad but Nevada is supposed to push the limits. Also, California has an awful one....where's the Golden Gate Bridge? Lastly, Michigan should have put a car or something on theirs.

I guess it is superficial, but I've seen worse. At least it's not laughable or cluttered or ugly. On the other hand, it's not in a class with Texas or Nebraska or Virginia or New Jersey or New York or a few other impressive ones I could mention. The Statehood Quarters are a one-time event. It's a shame that so many states performed so poorly.

For me uncluttered coinage is tops. I love the no star dimes for instance. This one appeals to me in that regard.

the set up reminds me of the Delaware quarter... complete with the placement of "The First State"

Thw Wyoming quarter is a beautiful coin. Less is more. All of the 07 quarters are some of the best in the series. I love the new Montana coin.

The one I'm most disappointed in is Utah. Yes, the transcontinental railroad was very important, and, yes Utah tried to show some history (kudos there, at least), but Utah's history is dominated by the Mormons. I would love to have seen some Mormon history. Maybe a pioneer wagon (hand cart, actually), or something like that.

IMO they should have added something else to it, but I like it.

Chill out, KLJ, you can't have everything--a coin is not that big. I'll gladly settle for the completion of the transcontinental railroad. That's an "Old West" kind of dramatic event. On the negative side, the design could have been more appealing.--gunsmoke
