Aren't all of the NGC coins going to have the Hall of Fame labels? I thought that's what I read in my e-mail from them.

I'm guessing they might not say opening day on them, but they should still have the HOF logo?

Good question. I will find out tomorrow. We were told that the hof logo was only available at the show. Ngc is the only tpg with exclusive rights to use the hof logo.

  8. Congratulations Joe! I was going to PM you to sell right away but should have known you already knew that. I am happy for you. TC

  9. I absolutely agree with you. My gold will stay in OGP. However, some people collect labels and not just coins and will pay moon money for them. In a few years when they go to sell, they will have a rude awakening unless they find another Kool-Aid drinker.

Sadly I think there are a lot of Kool-Aid drinkers around...

My check boxes to cancel are still visible but the order shipping date has been moved up to 3/30 on all coins except the unc. silver dollar which shows an expected shipping date of 4/12.

Why the devil did you do that? The mint automatically gives you a bump up to 'over night' when you buy gold and other expensive items.

I just checked my credit card........the mint has 'tagged' it. Should see some concave/convex coins real soon people.........:)

Just in time to list them on FeeBay when people get their FeeBay Bucks.

You're joking right? There are a TON of people out there who will pay silly amounts of money based just on the labels either for grade or for special designations such as the "First Pitch at Baltimore" etc.

Very scary to me and something I stay away from. Reminds me of Beenie Babies or sports cards, when a private company issues a limited edition, in this case a label, that they can reproduce whenever they like - there are no laws saying they can’t, like with US Government coins.

Sure there are plenty of idiots out there, but look at it this way. Say you have 100 of these coins graded, with 20 of them in "First day HOF" labels with a mix of 69's & 70's.

Now crack all those coins out, mix them up, and see how many you get back in the right cases with the correct "labels", especially the "First day" ones.

Now tell me what that label is worth again~

Just wondering about the possibility of a sell out for the dollar. Anyone know how long it took the Buffalo Dollar to sell out? Didn't the Franklin Dollars sell out in around 6 days?

I’ll have to admit, I’m a little surprised by the gold sell out. I don’t think a $5 gold commem has ever sold out. Or, did the first offering, the 1986 Statue sellout? I know they shot way up, I sold most of my BU's that cost $155 each for $750 each to a big dealer back in 1986/1987.

  18. Has the US Mint said the gold coins have officially SOLD OUT? I know they put up the wait list notices for both gold coins on Thursday around 6pm, but it is odd they have not said they are sold out yet. You can still order them today. I am sure many have been ordered since the wait lists went up, and if these orders do not get filled there will likely be a lot of disgruntled customers yet again.

Yeah, strange the mint hasn’t listed them as sold out, but CoinNewsUpdate (see link above) says they are sold out. But then, it’s the mint, they’re probably petitioning Congress to produce more of them or offer them in a different set, yeah, a 3 coin set – that would not surprise me, knowing the mint.

They should have done the 3 coin set anyway.

  21. Last official announcement from the US Mint said 41,797 of 50,000 gold coins sold. Perhaps they are holding approximately 8K for a multi-coin set?
