I bought bill of rights 3 coin set on ebay. It has been over 10 days. no response from the seller. I paid within 5 minutes of auction ending. Many emails no response. What should i do. I paid with paypal (credit card) should i call my credit card company and reverse charges? Please advise. Thanks.
spock: ( Hi to the Captain) Sorry, couldn't resist. Anyway, yes, I'd notify paypal of non-receipt of goods to reverse the charges. Normally I hesitate, but you stated that the seller did not respond to e-mails so, that is not right. e-mail them and notify them that you are reversing the payment. In addition, you might want to call the charge company to tell them to reverse the charge, they will do it on your word. Good luck, let us know how it goes.
I am in hesitation too. I bought it on the 16th evening. Maybe I should wait til Tuesday before I reverse. Should i call the credit card company or should I call paypal to reverse the charges. I want to make sure i follow the proper process so that i don't get in trouble.
You know..ya keep hearing :secret: all these horor stories about ebay!! Why cant you just find a dealer..or an auction house that is reputable and do your just bidding there? I would never buy anything from ebay!! Now I know that there are good folks on EBay as well...but come on guy's with all the scams on coins anyway..why take the chance?? I have never had a problem with the people I deal with..Teletrade, Heritage, Don C. Kelly, Ken Schlosser and a few others. It is not rocket science ya know!! RickieB
I would plug their Ebay id into this site http://www.toolhaus.org/ and see what type of feedback they have received in the past. If they have sold many items with a good feedback record I might wait another week if you really want the coins. Otherwise I would do as Treashunt suggested. I would contact Paypal and open a dispute and go through the process they recommend. Good Luck
Darryl: I checked their feedback, and they have 99.9 % pos. with over 5,000 feedbacks. They must have just gone away, but a few days won't hunt.
I would tend to agree, they may have also encountered computer issues? With that many sales and good feedback they are probably not a normally bad seller.?. I guess now it all depends on how bad spock1k wants the coins and how long he is willing to wait. If it was me I would wait the extra 5 days. Not uncommon for sellers that sell in volume not to respond to emails. Also not uncommon for them to be slow to ship due to the volume of items they move.
Ebay requires at least a 10 day wait before a dispute can be opened, and Paypal requires a dispute be opened at maximum 30 days after payment for you to be eligible to receive a refund (up to $1000). I'd wait until 15 days and then open a dispute. Good luck and I hope you get the item or your money back!
I would call the credit card company first. They may even ask you to call paypal before filing a claim with them. It two cases paypal immediately(within a day) reversed the charges for my father. In both cases he talked directly to paypal. If paypal does not do something quick you can then call the credit card company back and reverse the charges there. That is what is charge card company told him - try paypal first, then call us back.
thanks for all athe advice guys. ihave a response from the seller he apologises for the delay saying there were problems (what kind?) and he should send it out on Monday. will keep you guys posted. Keep the advice coming.
ok the seller cliams he has misplaced his inventory and he should be sending this out and he also apologizes The taste of the pudding is in the eating so will let you know once the coins make it.
What??? How the........ Do you misplace your coin inventory... Good luck man, I hope you get your Coins and they are what you were thinking they were... I'm waiting on an SAE, I bought for my series and its been almost a week and a half.... The tracking number the guy sent me doesn't work, so we'll see... He said it should be at my house today or tommorow..
When you're a newbie and need fairly common stuff, you really can't look at Heritage for that Lincoln memorial "S" cent date you need. I am not familar with the other ones. Got links?
ok the coins arrived today. Looked nothing liek the pictures and they were all toned. I have written to the seller lets see. if he does not respond then what are the next steps. his listing said money back or exchange. i will take either. the same thing has happeneed to world cup 2004 except the gold coin is ok in that one. The sellers are losing all sorts of morals these days. That one is missing too after sale.
I won and paid for an item on January 21st and I havent received it yet. However, I am reluctant to report this person and post a negative comment because I have 100% feedback and don't want to mess that up. She has almost perfect feedback but the 7 out of 6,000 negative feedback comments are about not receiving an item and this seller gets quite nasty with her replies to those negative feedbacks. I have emailed her and she told me she shipped out 100 coins on Jan. 24, 25, and 26. So, I guess I will wait and see what happens.
take it from me. i have spent more than 10k on ebay. Dont buy from ebay. Unless you are prepared to lose big. Inthe end you will save a few bucks but it will not be worth it. i have read elsehwere in this thread/forum members recommend dealers with no problems. My current coin collection is almost complete if nad when i decide a new subject I will think twice before going back to ebay.
10 days is not uncommon for shipping. Keep emailing the seller, if you do not recieve the item, then file a dispute via paypal. There is a time limit when you can file, and when you have to elevate to a claim. Just have some patience. Do some research on both eBay and Paypal websites about your problem. If it was lost in the mail, and you paid for insurance, you should get a full refund. Once again, have some patience and proceed in a methodical manner.
Man, I gotta wonder what you did different... I don't know that I have spent 10K, but between all the Custom Truck parts, Big Amps and other gadgets for my Competition Car Stereo, Coins and PMs and other Gotta have Goodies that I've bought offa ebay, I'm sure I've spend well over 5 or 6K... The worst two things I had happen to me (turned out ok).... I've bought a few things that took several days more than I'd liked to get to me.... (could be I'm a need it now, instant gratification freak) and the other one, I won a limited edition somewhat hard to find book, on collecting Silver once ounce art bars... In all my searches, I only found two of them... One they guy wanted like 400+ for and the other was on ebay for like 35.00... Well I won the ebay auction and as it turns out the seller had it posted on another ebay type place at the same time by ""Accident"" and had sold it the day before I won it.... He called me and was very polite and said he was sorry many times... He refunded my money, then later on he either got the same book back or a different one called me back up and sent it too me, with several "Silver Art bars for free"... This last time silver was really peaking at like 18+ and ounce... Other than that, besides running up my credit card bill, I've had great experiences on ebay...
