None of these were junk bin picks, but my LCS usually has competitive prices.

Mongolia 1937 15 Mongo (older script--Mongolia now uses a Cyrillic script)

    France 1933 5 Francs (single-year type)

    Brazil 1932 1000 Reis (single-year circulating commemorative)

Guernsey 1911 1 Double (pleasing condition for $3)

Hawaii 1883 1 Dime and Quarter Dollar (Most Hawaii coins are outside my price range, so I was happy just to get these in any condition)

    All great coins. Good job!

  4. There is something about the Brazilian Commemorative that pleases me more than the rest, especially with that obverse design. I think why is that because that obverse design doesn't have that usual text that circles around the edge of that coin. If there are any other coins with designs like that, please send me pictures.

What is the size of the Chinese coin?

    I believe it is a 2 Jiao.

All the denominations are special for 1932. I have them but don't have pics at the moment.

    You're right, thanks! It clearly says 貳 (2) and not 壹 (1)
I don't have it in hand right now to check the diameter.
I'm pretty sure the dealer had is listed as a 1 jiao and I didn't catch it.
My (1990s) old Krause guide has the 1 and 2 jiao at similar prices, but it looks
like both coins have come up a lot in the last 3 decades.
Is there a good source for current pricing on these?

As it happens, I have a Brazil 1932 100 Reis as well. They used a similar style.

Why is Guernsey spelled "Guernesey"? I've never seen it spelled that way in English.

I think "Guernesey" is the French spelling. According to Wikipedia, at least, French was the official language until 1948. I guess the population tends to speak
English or a Norman dialect of French which is pretty different from standard French.

The Chinese 2 jiao is easily a highlight. It is one illusive coin that keeps slipping out of my hands. Today a nice example is easily 3 - 4 figure!
