I am assuming that is the PDS collection right? Philly, Denver and Proof Sanfran? If so it sounds much much too high. I have seen cheaper in coin magazines that included an album.
Are they slabbed by a TPG, in a Dansco, 2x2s or what??? On Ebay I've seen complete sets in Danscos do for from 180.00 - 250.00 Howed they get 25 coins? If I remember right the set is 2000 - 2006, seven years time 3 (P.D.S.) would be 21 coins... The other three might be Bonus Extras...
There actually are 25, only 24 of them are listed in the Red Book. The 25th would be the gold examples. Even so, I rather doubt the set mentioned would contain more than 22. Correction - if you count the 2 satin finish the final number would be 27.
Yep, PDS; 3X7 = 21 + P&D satin '05/'06 = 25 coins total. $335 is way too much, maybe worth $150? Thanks, Douglas
Boy, I need to learn to learn how to count Thanks Douglas :thumb: Add the Goodacre, the Millenium, the Cheerios and the gold to that and you have 29.
If that set is the one on HSN I wouldn't buy it, you are better off finding graded coins that are more valuable and for less money.
The easy answer is supply and demand. There are simply more people out there who want the coin than the dealers can readily supply them with - so the price goes up. And the reason the dealers don't have many of them is because in 2001 the dealers didn't buy many of them. The majority of the mintage of the '01 Proof set was sold to individuals.
