    It is an S-121, can't tell if it is an a or b from these pictures.

    thanks for the reply. the photos are the sellers photos. is there anything about the details of variety S121a or S-121b that could help to attribute the coin?

    The only difference between the two is the edge, it all depended on the planchet the coin was struck on, a plain edged planchet or a "griped" edge planchet.

    thanks for the reply. i could not find any photos online of the actual edge of the gripped edge variety. the coin that i posted is part of an order that i have on a layaway plan, so i have not seen the actual edge of the coin yet.

    i received the coin and i tried to take pictures of the edge with a webcam because that is the only camera that i have. these photos did not turn out very much.
