Well, it happened. After waiting over 2 months and the shipping date being set back time after time, I just checked my order status on the mint web site and the status has been changed to "sold out". At first I got excited because the order status line read "item has been shipped", but then under the "item status" line was the dreaded phrase "item is no longer available". :( ......oh well. Hopefully my ASE 2006 W order will still be honored, that date just keeps getting set back.

I can relate in some ways. Though I got my 3 pc. ASE 20'th Anniv. order, and my orders for the 2006 W Unc. ASE's, I wasn't so lucky on the 2006 American Legacy Set! I got the 2005 Legacy set, so I really wanted an '06 version. That's the mint for you though. I never know for certain lately which orders will be filled if they are for limited edition coins, except for subscriptions. I wonder if they will offer P & D Roll Subscriptions for the American Presidential Dollar series? Anyone know?

It's funny how things work out. I got 2 2006 Legacy sets I didn't want. Sold them on E-bay for a loss in the unopened mailer from the mint. Oh well. Maybe this year will go a little better.

Think any of us who have ordered from the mint have their own horror stories. It happened to me on the AGE that i ordered after the sell out.

understand from a reliable source that they are going to increase their shipping of the 2006w starting next week and that only about one-half of them have been shipped so far. So they still have a long ways to go.

Not me. :) In 20 years of ordering coins I have only had 1 coin that was damaged(San fran gold). I sent it back and they replaced it. The only problem I have is remembering my subscriptions - I think I have twice ordered extra silver eagles.

That's what happened to me with the legacy sets Mark. I couldn't remember what I had ordered, and the mint never sent an order confirmation message and it never showed up on the order history page on the mint web site. So I ordered 2 more and ended up with 4. :desk:

As far as their products I have never had any problems once i get them. Beautiful coins at what I think is reasonable prices but these delays that they seem to be having and the poor information from customer service has made it difficult at time especially when one has their Credit card tied up for months at time.

A month ago I had to return a 2006 AGE $10 that had a small scratch or strike through on the reverse. They sent me out a new one pretty quickly and all of the recent coins have been nice. I would agree that their customer service and order fulfillment needs a little attention. But in the end they seem to deliver a great coin at a fair price.
