Hello all, I need to send a note to Hong Kong and was wondering the best and most secure way to send it? I was thinking either Priority Mail International Flat Rate Envelope with tracking and insurance...0r maybe Registered Mail w/tracking and insurance, which apparently the USPS claims is kept under lock and key and signed for by anyone who handles the parcel. These notes do have some value and I have had issues in the past with shipping inexpensive coins to Hong Kong. BTW, I would also be interested to also know how you fill out your customs forms for international shipping. Collectible items? Numismatic materials? etc. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated!
I don't ship stuff international for some of these reasons. eBay also does not permit currency in their international shipping program (despite enrolling all of my listings for it automatically). Sorry I can't be of much help here.
Thanks anyway funkee. I don't like sending items internationally either. This particular item I must send and I'm trying to cover all my bases.
I send stuff all over the world, if it is valued more than £10 = $ 16.50 then it is sent with a signature required insured shipping and it is tracked. I have sent items valued at over $4000 without a problem. Numismatic Item on the customs form with a very low value. It is not a crime to write a low value on a customs form despite what others might say. Your US tracking number should be usable on this site http://www.track-trace.com/post
No problem. Don`t forget, whoever it is insured with, do not know what is written on the customs form. The customs form is only for the benefit of the recipient country.
