Thanks. I thought it was one of those things that when you see them, you have to try to buy them. The same guy was selling about 12 total and these were the ones I wasn't outbid on. It's good to combine shipping at least.
Here's a 1960H Hong Kong dollar. It's not as nice as Detecto's but that's alright. I like the design and the size-30mm. And it's Hong Kong. I always heard Hong Kong and Singapore were the most Capitalist friendly countries.
I managed to snag this Cuba One Peso that was named as something else to by-pass eBays US embargo on Cuban coins. I also bought this beat up Mexican Maximillian Peso which are quite scarce. Couple of decent Farthings.
I wish I owned 1 or 2 of these http://www.coinnews.net/2014/03/21/dimitriadis-collection-of-roman-gold-coins-graded-by-ngc/
Yes nice stuff, I was looking through the auction catalogs yesterday; nice selection of world coins too but $$$
Sent the 11 year old to find me a set...... gave him a $10... and an hour later he gives me back $8.50 an these, proud of my man.
yours is great. I have 1 of these. you can get Cuban coins on Ebay. they do NOT label them Cuba they label them peso or centavos.
I still see a lot of Cuban coins on eBay under creative titles too. I was still selling them for awhile too but then eBay found a few of them, took them down and called to lecture me. After that I decided it wasn't worth the chance of getting my account suspended. It's a shame because Cuban coins always sell. Then you see people listing them on non-eBay auction sites with them priced like they're something really special.
I'd never heard of "The last Franc" until I saw it in a local shop. Hard to photograph because of the wavy planchet but a very cool design
