'ANCIENT OR MODERN' Coin trays or cabinet?? help please

I think its a lot smaller than you are imagining. I believe I have seen this before, and its like 10 inches high.

It's pretty cool lookin', but I don't get it?

=> it only holds 20 coins? (I'll need to order a dozen or more of 'em!!?)

... it'll be like a bird sanctuary, with 20 or so coin bird-houses (ehh, it still could be kinda cool?)

=> oh great .... now I've gotta talk the hot-wife into jumpin on-board the "coin bird-house basement retreat" .......... hmmm, this is gonna take some thought ...

Coins are encased in some huge holders, that's why it only holds 20 coins.

 

Still, how many coins could this fit? Not many. Traditional desktop cabinets were taller and wider than this, and many still only held 100 coins.

 

To me, it kinda screams "STEAL ME!" if a thief were to find it. Otherwise I agree, its very nice, reminds me of the entrance of an ancient temple.

 

I think it looks a little 'tacky'.....sort of thing my nan would have. Also, i agree with VK, it says 'steal me'

 

I like these but at about £60/$100 delivered, not sure they can be considered good value.

Iike the fact they are smallish and can be hidden or stacked easily, the wooden trays are nice too.

 

Looks real nice, but it's way too expensive. I wonder how difficult this might be to build for someone with some cabinet experience.

 

Not that hard at all I think, dove tails on each corner, tacked and glued ply top and bottom, the trays are also dove tailed with ply bottoms.

Very little 'off the shelf' stuff works for me sizes wise, maybe 3D printers will be producing bespoke boxes in the near future.

Imagine someone building this for 60-100 bucks? This is very good value IMO, for £70 GBP you couldnt get anyone to make this, with time and materials...

 

Yah, I admit that it's kinda cool ... but it's really merely just a jewelry box ...
