"Rice puller" coins?

    I've seen something in a few places called a "rice puller" coin. It's supposedly an alloy of copper and iridium, and is claimed to have some magical properties (or at least an unusual amount of static electricity). They're supposed to be able to attract grains of rice.

    From I can see on Google - it's a hoax.

    wow!! thats amazing.. I've been hearing about these things since I was a kid here in India. I didn't know that it is a universal thing. Personally, I do not believe in these stories. Here, not only coins, but the petromax lamps and even some kitchen utensils seem to pull rice. And me too think its a hoax. :rolleyes:

    That is absurd. Iridium is a fairly difficult metal to obtain.
