I am very happy about this coins because it is my first expensive coin, which cost me about 150$. But is this too much for this coin? Please give me your suggestions and opinions.
Wow, cool addition (congrats) ... => I love the anchor countermark ... ummm, is that an apple, or a pomegranate on the reverse? (cool)
Here is a link which shows several other example coins (there are also additional tabs at the bottom of the page, for accessing coins from their electronic and printed auctions) ...... $150 certainly seems like a pretty good price http://cngcoins.com/Search.aspx?IS_ADVANCED=1&ITEM_IS_SOLD=1&ITEM_INVENTORY_NUMBER=&CONTAINER_NAME=&ITEM_LOT_NUMBER=&ITEM_DESC=Pamphylia side tetradrachm&SEARCH_IN_CONTAINER_TYPE_ID_1=1&SEARCH_IN_CONTAINER_TYPE_ID_3=1&SEARCH_IN_CONTAINER_TYPE_ID_2=1&VIEW_TYPE=0
From what I can find on line, you did well at $150: http://www.acsearch.info/record.html?id=666589 http://www.vcoins.com/en/Search.asp...ype=0&searchMaxRecords=100&SearchOnSale=False
I consider the coin worth the price if genuine and see nothing in the photo that makes me think it is not. It is a pomegranate. My coin was slightly more than that in 1989. It shares the countermark location but that really seems like the obvious place to put it and I have seen others with that same location.
Gorgeous example, Doug ... yes, there are hundreds of examples on my link (above), showing a few varying countermarks and their locations, but the most common location seems to be the one shown on your example and the OP example (cool coins)
Nice one, TIF ... ... sadly, I don't have one of these sweet examples ... ummm, but I do have an example from the same place ... oh, and it has a pomegranate too ... Yah, I love this coin!!
