One more, should I send this SLQ in for a grade?

  1. I just putting an order together and thought to take a minute to get some feedback. I've looked at the coin several times. It does have flow lines but not as distinct as I would like to see. I don't see any abrasion on the high points and compared to recent PCGS grading it looks like a 64. There are two small dings on the face and one on the leg. JH Cline says that it shouldn't get a 64 unless the bag marks are not on the face or legs, but have seen plenty that do.

    Thanks Group for your time 1929 BUFH SLQ0765.JPG 1929 BUFH SLQ0766.JPG 1929 BUFH SLQ0768.jpg 1929 BUFH SLQ0769.JPG 1929 BUFH SLQ0771.jpg 1929 BUFH SLQ0772.jpg

    Pretty piece.

Id maybe hit it with some MS-70 to get rid of that black junk around the devices, but other than that it should get at least a 63, close to a FH too

It may be the photo's but it looks flat and lifeless, like its been over dipped/improperly cleaned.

As for the grade IMO 55

Would I send it in? No

I agree with KJ, dipped and harshly cleaned, details slab.

Harshly cleaned? Over dipped possibly, but where are you seeing signs of a harsh cleaning?

And this may be a candidate for an AU slider.

My first impression of those photos was that the coin has been cleaned and would end up in a details slab. This is an example of a coin that I would need to see in hand in order to render any definitive judgement.

  12. What is MS70? Never heard of that before. Will it hurt the coin at all? In the least I mean.

  13. Thanks for all the feedback group // Bud

Nice coin, looks dipped (white all over) so it could go AU-58 or AU-det - imp cleaned...
